1、 Question raising
Trace elements refer to powders that account for a very small percentage in the formula. Powders are usually small, valuable, and important. The uniform distribution of trace elements in the overall powder determines the success or failure of the mixing task.
2、 The reasons why trace elements are not easily mixed evenly
1. The amount of trace elements added is small, sometimes only 1 ‰, or even less; At the same time, trace elements are particularly valuable and important, playing a crucial role in product quality. Therefore, once trace elements accumulate in the dead corner of the material barrel, they will cause the product to be scrapped.
2. Usually, the main powders in industries such as food, additives, and pharmaceuticals have poor flowability, which poses great difficulties for even mixing of very small amounts of trace elements.
3、 Dealing with the Mixing Problem of Trace Elements Using Traditional Equal Incremental Method
The solution is to continuously dilute trace elements and achieve uniform mixing by using an equal amount of incremental mixing method. For example, in a mixing task with a trace element content of 1% and a total of 100 kilograms of mixed powder, first take out 1 kilogram of trace elements and mix it with an equal amount of 1 kilogram of main powder; Mix for a certain period of time before mixing with an equal amount of 2 kilograms of main powder; Mix for a certain period of time and then mix with an equal amount of 4 kilograms of main powder Until all 100 kilograms of main powder are mixed evenly. This method requires a large amount of manual operation, is time-consuming, labor-intensive, has multiple links, and is prone to errors.
4、 Using a mixer with super strong mixing ability to solve the mixing problem of trace elements
If a mixer with strong mixing ability is used, it can also effectively solve the problem of difficult mixing of trace elements, such as dual motion ® Mixing machine, this equipment combines the advantages of two types of mixing equipment: gravity diffusion and forced mixing. While gravity diffusion drives the powder to flow, the forced mixing device also inserts and shear the powder, increasing the binding force on the powder, fundamentally solving the mixing problem. To achieve one-time mixing completion, ensure mixing quality, improve mixing efficiency, and reduce manual participation, many cases have shown that this is an efficient and good way to solve the problem of unsuitable mixing of trace elements.
Precautions:
1. In response to the difficulties of minimal addition of trace elements and poor flowability of the main powder, it is necessary to use a mixing equipment with forced shear stirring function to overcome the difficulty of poor flowability of the powder. At the same time, by repeatedly shearing trace elements, they can be evenly dispersed, achieving the goal of uniform mixing of trace elements.
2. When mixing powders with trace elements, attention should be paid to strictly prohibiting the equipment from storing dead corners of materials, in order to avoid mixing failure caused by trace elements entering the dead corners of materials. In response to the difficulty of trace elements easily accumulating in the dead corners of the material barrel, it is necessary to use mixing equipment that can move the material barrel to avoid the generation of dead corners and the accumulation of trace elements in the dead corners, leading to mixing failure.
5、 Example explanation
In a famous food enterprise in Zhengzhou, it is necessary to add 5 ‰ of yeast to the flour and mix it evenly.
Previously, a 600 liter V-shaped mixer with manual intervention was used to mix using the "equal increment method" mixing process.
The method is:
Mix yeast with 10% of the main powder first;
Mix for 20 minutes, then add 10% of the main powder;
Add 10% of the main powder every 20 minutes of mixing until the main powder is added completely;
Finally, mix for another 50 minutes to complete the equal increment method mixing task.
From this perspective, the equal quantity incremental method requires manual intervention in the mixing process, which is complex and prone to errors.
Due to the low addition of trace elements to yeast, coupled with poor flowability of flour and a stacking angle greater than 42 °, it is a typical mixing process challenge. If mixed directly with a V-shaped mixer, the goal of uniform mixing cannot be achieved. Therefore, it is necessary to manually intervene in the mixing process using a cumbersome incremental method to barely achieve the process requirements of uniform mixing. The entire mixing process takes more than 3 hours.
Later, dual motion was adopted ® The mixing equipment solves the above-mentioned mixing process difficulties and obtains the following results through repeated experiments:
1. At 400 liters dual sport ® Complete feeding in one go in the mixer;
2. Turn on the machine for mixing, with a mixing time of 1 hour and 10 minutes (omitting the manual intervention process of equal increment method);
3. Inspection after mixing: The mixing is uniform and meets all process requirements.
